Manager, Strategy and M&A

Responsibilities:

  • Lead M&A end-to-end process from sourcing to execution

  • Originate and deliver transaction ideas and manage opportunity pipeline

  • Project manage all transactions, drive the target timetable / milestones, ensure quality on deliverables, and coordinate internal cross-functional teams and external advisors

  • Monitor transaction risks and proactively put in place actional mitigations to ensure successful closure

  • Help prepare and present transactions for approval by Board

  • Regularly conduct and manage market assessment and industry trend analyses ; help guide overall company vision for strategic positioning within consumer / retail environment

  • Maintain company model and comparable company analysis

  • Assist in capital structure management for broader enterprise

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree inFinance, Accounting, or Economics or equivalent job-related experienceis required

  • MBA Degree with emphasis in Finance or Analytics preferred

  • 3-5+ years of experience in Corporate Strategy, M&A, and / or Finance (investment banking or consulting experience preferred)

  • Financial analysis, key performance metrics, valuations, due diligence, budgeting, planning, performance improvement initiatives, new business pro-forma modeling

  • Advanced experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, financial modeling, trend analysis, and ad hoc financial analysis is a plus

  • Advanced Excel skills and data analysis skills, ideally with experience or interest in automation

  • Hands-on, strong grasp of corporate or business unit financial concepts and tools, inclusive of financial ratios and key metrics

  • Excellent written communication and verbal communication skills

  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle a fast-paced work environment

  • Ability to juggle and complete multiple duties with quality and accuracy shifting from one to another with frequent interruptions and competing deadlines

  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook

  • Experience using computerized information systems used in financial and/or accounting applications

Job Duty

  • Performance Management: Contribute to monthly P&L reviews, summarizing results, providing insights and explaining variances. Proactively identify, develop and implement enhancements to existing reports and business views to highlight performance strengths and opportunities.

  • Budgeting: Lead the annual budgeting process through design, creation of tools, establishing timelines, and communicating and coordinating with all relevant parties.

  • Business Analysis: Lead ad hoc analysis and provide decision support. Perform analysis and modeling in support of RFPs, assessing P&L impacts and making recommendations.

  • Forecasting: Work to streamline forecasting process while improving resultant accuracy.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Direct Reports

  • Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources

Indirect Reports

  • May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

Minimum Qualifications

The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job

Education Level: (Required) Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

(Preferred) Master's Degree

Field of Study/Area of Experience: Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting or other related field

  • 5+ years progressively responsible related financial experience required.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, financial modeling, trend analysis, and ad hoc financial analysis.

• Strong grasp of corporate financial concepts and tools – P&L interpretation, key metrics (NPV and IRR).

• Comfort and competence using financial systems.

• Advanced Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

• Excellent time-management skills with demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects and deadlines.

• Ability to interact with senior leadership, influence points of view without having direct authority, and work toward consensus.
