Account Executive Agency

The Account Executive serves a dual advocacy role within The Alchemedia Project. They are the agency’s representation to the client and are expected to advocate our strategic and creative position. Likewise, they are the client’s representative within the agency and must represent the client’s best interest in producing work. They must lead clients, thinking out ahead of the assignment and managing the details deftly.

It is critical that the Account Executive demonstrate natural leadership qualities. They must lead with intellect and relational skill; while wielding influence with peer group to produce work in a timely and profitable manner.

Account Executives manage day-to-day client interaction, bring insight and value to the process and ensure all projects deliver with excellence; on-time and on-budget. Responsible for accurately understanding the client’s objectives and requirements, thoroughly documenting the assignment and communication of the information to the design and development team via the Producer.


Desired Media & Technology Knowledge

The Account Executive need not be an expert in either media or technology, but must be more versed in these related fields than one might find in an agency of a different nature.

  • Basic understanding of Closed Loop Marketing Systems

  • Comprehension of integrated media and the notion of lead-generating mediums working together

  • Basic understanding of Content Management Systems (CMS) a plus

  • Understands the principles of web analysis and the use of web analytics tools

Education & Training

  • BA, BS or MBA degree with emphasis in Marketing Communications, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.


2 to 4 years marketing and/or agency experience with at least 2 years in an online marketing capacity, including:

  • A basic understanding of Web technology platforms

  • Working knowledge of technology solutions that integrate online and offline marketing elements

  • Understanding of strategic marketing principles and hands on experience executing holistic marketing plans

  • Experience executing projects and integrated multi-media campaigns against strict deadlines and budgets

Required Qualifications

  • Be self-motivated with a positive attitude in both independent and collaborative team environments

  • Ability to effectively communicate with Project Management and client teams

  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Compelling presentation skills a plus

  • Demonstrated decision-making, analytical and problem solving skills

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Microsoft Project)

Position Summary

The Account Executive serves as the agency liaison with the client to ensure that the client’s needs and objectives are achieved through execution of strategically grounded marketing programs. Primary role is development, implementation, financial management and post-analysis of promotional programs in conjunction with client and/or customer personnel. A successful Account Executive will deliver measurable results to the client for their brands through flawless program management. Additionally, they must be able to collaborate effectively to deliver on mutual client and retailer objectives. Results will be obtained through effective communication and superior follow-up with the client, customer, internal agency and all third party vendors.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Primary Job Responsibilities – Personal Accountability

  • Perform project management duties including: program tracking, timeline development and management, budget management and reconciliation, post-promotional analyses, and internal and external reporting

  • Interface with the client on a regular basis to plan and manage programs and events; the amount of interaction with the client will be prescribed by the needs of the specific client service team and client relationship

  • Develop effective client and retailer relationships to facilitate communication and execution with internal departments, including creative and production, to ensure that client deliverables are successfully achieved

  • Determine project components based on objectives, including concept, event, tactics, associated costs and identify third party vendors who offer those services

  • Research, negotiate, and plan with third party vendors and organizations, based upon scope of tactical execution plan, to deliver flawless execution

  • Often necessitates securing of a minimum of three (3) third party quotes to secure best rate for service provided

  • Collaborate with company’s sales force, broker organization and/or marketing team throughout program development, execution, and post analysis

  • Build and own complete understanding of managed brands/retailers

  • Other related duties as assigned.

  • Responsible for managing the creative development process and ensuring all concept, graphic design and copy elements are completed with the appropriate communication priorities and client approvals

  • Support agency partners with coordination of deliverables and updates

  • Communicate and interact effectively with agency team members in all departments and/or clients to deliver timely information and reports

Minimum Qualifications

Education Level: (Required) Bachelor's Degree o r equivalent experience

Field of Study/Area of Experience: Marketing

-1-2 years of experience in consumer product, brand or agency
