Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on system administration support, system maintenance, and operations support.

  • Recommend software and hardware enhancements.

  • Build, configure, and troubleshoot software/hardware enhancements, application deployments, and infrastructure upgrades.

  • Diagnose and correct computer systems issues.

  • Work independently and in a group environment to complete tasks according to deadlines and requirements.

  • Take ownership of assigned tasks and complete tasks according to project prioritization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in the area ofComputer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline

  • Certifications in MCSE - Server Infrastructure, VMWare VCP, and CCNA a plus

  • 1-4 years of experience in system administration

  • Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills

  • Working knowledge of networking practices using VLANs, Port Channels, Trunking, SpanningTree, IGMP, and Bonjour

  • Working knowledge of Linux administration on Debian, Ubuntu, or Redhat using Winbind, Samba, and Open ISCSI

Position Summary

The position of Systems Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure. This requires team collaboration as well as ongoing technical development to ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related processes adhere to the company’s standards. This person will be expected to contribute to the overall system architecture and provide input to leadership for purchasing decisions.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on system administration support, system maintenance, and operations support.

  • Able to think independently and make critical business decisions regarding client related infrastructure and overall application architecture.

  • Recommend software and hardware enhancements.

  • Build, configure, and troubleshoot software/hardware enhancements, application deployments, and infrastructure up-grades.

  • Diagnose and correct computer systems issues.

  • Work independently and in a group environment to complete tasks according to deadlines and requirements.

  • Clearly communicate updates and progress on projects upon request.

  • Take ownership of assigned tasks and complete tasks according to project prioritization.

  • Be adaptable to changes in priority and include proper parties in decision making as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

  • Field of Study/Area of Experience: Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline

  • Certifications in MCSE - Server Infrastructure, VMWare VCP, and CCNA a plus

  • 1-4 years of experience in system administration

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills

  • Thorough grasp of Microsoft Server 2012, Active Directory, and Group Policy

  • Working knowledge of networking practices using VLANs, Port Channels, Trunking, SpanningTree, IGMP, and Bonjour

  • Working knowledge of Linux administration on Debian, Ubuntu, or Redhat using Winbind, Samba, and Open ISCSI

  • Experience in Cisco CUCM, ASA, IPSec, AnyConnect, and IP Routing protocols

Environmental & Physical Requirements

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work may be performed in an office, field, retail store, or warehouse environment. Typically requires the ability to spend 66%+ hours each work day doing the following activities: engage in considerable physical activity, ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds, stand on feet for long periods of time, use products or cook food as appropriate for the demonstration, and may be required to work in extremely cold conditions (i.e. refrigerated and freezer sections). Also required to travel and drive. The use of proper safety practices when handling the products and/or cooking is essential.
